Wasting time...

I guess nowadays, many have been complaining about increasing prices etc.. the worst hit, are probably those middle-income families earning a decent living in the urban areas...cant really complain that much, with prices of food, commodities in the global market sky rocketing; its a never ending story..

moving on to the US pres. nominations..Couldnt resist digging in on the US presidential nominations...now its just mcCain vs Obama vs Clinton....with clinton winning the latest primaries, tough call so to say the least...

but My guess for the Presidential elections:                            McCain vs Obama...how interesting..

i dont care whoever wins,cos one things for sure, they'll always back israel and ill-treat Palestinians... :-(

Months has passed...

How long has it been? close to 5 months i guess since i bombarded this blog with silly postings....alas, back from hibernation..

Guess there is a new craving by the name of facebook. haha..

oh, well. so what's new....election??boring..the same old politics..im not going to get into it...tired of wasting time and energy discussing bout it...

work? tiring to bits..some days u tend to enjoy em' some days u dont...reports here, reports there, analysing here, analysing there..so many things in one day...its true that once uve started working, its hard to ever get one's life back into shape again..

just watched the recent resolution passed in UN on the further restrictions on Iran...oh, well it aint shocking is it...iraq n tatters, pakistanis practically blowing each other away, israelis running rampant in Gaza killing innocent Palestinians...the world is in a mess...  :-(

Must say that Raya this year kinda brings back memories of arwah Tok Wan & arwah Tok Putih....gah, i shouldn't be all emo but im really feeling a sense of de ja vu about something this time around (i hope im wrong)..

Nice to see everyone back at Tok & Opah's palace in Perak....Must say that im already feeling old..whilst my cousins are all growing up fast and all handsome & beautiful,im ageing big time ..hehe...to sum up the raya@perak, we had a family photo (which incidentally was last done 2 years ago) in front of the palace....

n it was also nice to see my uncle & aunts, cousins in Tasek Gelugor, kepala batas...some people just age gracefully.. :)

Islamic Finance

Just attended the recent Malaysian Islamic Finance 2-day forum...must say it gave me numerous insights into the world of Islamic financial industry..just name it sukuk, mudharabah, musyakarah, ijarah, commodity-based mudharabah, Islamic derivatives, Islamic REITs; talk about product innovation..im impressed..the Islamic finance industy is already said to be worth trillions of US dollars...wow....n to think that the majority of investors in Islamic financial instruments are non-muslims, what a remarkable revelation!

with petro-dollars swelling from the Gulf nations, the industry is reputed to grow even further..now everyone is into Islamic finance..just name it, Bahrain, Dubai, Singapore, Qatar....n Malaysia....Malaysia has already an Islamic finance initiative by the name of the Malaysian Islamic Financial Centre (or MIFC) in place...the next big question is, are we ready to be a major player??

p/s: must say that the moderator by the name of AbdelKader Thomas (Shape) was cool n knowledgable.......
